The Rotary Club of Canby
The Rotary Club of Canby was organized and chartered by Rotary International in 1979. We are in Rotary District 5100 and made up of business professionals who live or work in Canby and the surrounding area. Over the years we have conducted a myriad of projects, and in the past few years we have contributed over $140,000 in Service to our Community. We support the efforts of the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International and in 1990 we formed the Canby Rotary Foundation as a local focus. Our most notable project of late is our Lee Elementary School Library project, an effort to provide adequate library books for the elementary school children. A second project is the Rotary clock near Canby Cinema8 and Cutsforth Thriftway Market. When you are in the area, please stop by and visit our club.
Since 1938, the Canby Kiwanis Club has been offering a helping hand in our local area and in the world. We subscribe wholeheartedly to the Kiwanis International motto: “Serving the Children of the World.” Most of our volunteer and fundraising activities are directed to activities that help young people.
In 2013 our Canby club celebrated its 75th anniversary with a variety of special events and projects. Kiwanis International celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2015, and the Canby club is marking that milestone through the year with special events and projects.
We seek new members from all walks of life who share our commitment to volunteerism, community improvement and good fellowship. Please attend one of our luncheon meetings if you would like to learn more. Our regular meetings are Mondays from noon to 1 p.m. in the Town Hall room above the Cutsforth Market on Northeast Second Avenue.
The Canby Arts Association promotes appreciation, learning and understanding of all forms and techniques of artistic expression. We find and offer outlets for artists to present their talents to the public and offer a friendly, comfortable venue in which to exchange ideas with other artists and those interested in the Arts.
We need and welcome your involvement in The Canby Arts Association’s continuing mission of “Creating and Supporting Community Involvement in the Arts. If you are interested in more information or joining us, please call 503-263-5236.
The Canby Livability Coalition is a citizen based, grassroots organization founded in 2002. Our advisors focus on projects with Neighborhood Associations, Parks and Recreation, Commerce, Arts, and our community’s Heritage. We will add other areas of interest as the opportunity arises and resources become available.
